Before any permanent makeup procedure (Powder Brows, Microblading, Latinbrows, lips or eyeliner), we review this information with you in person. You will sign the full consent form at the studio before we begin. This page lets you read it calmly beforehand.
1. The procedure
Permanent makeup (micropigmentation) deposits pigment into the upper layers of the skin using sterile, single-use needles. It is a cosmetic tattoo: it fades gradually over time but is considered semi-permanent and may not be fully removable.
- The process usually takes 2 to 3 hours, including design and numbing.
- A touch-up session is usually recommended 6 to 8 weeks after the first session to perfect the result.
- We agree on the shape and color with you before starting. You approve the design before any pigment is applied.
2. Who should not have the procedure (contraindications)
We will not perform the procedure, or will postpone it, if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are taking or have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) in the last 6–12 months
- Take blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder
- Have an active infection, cold sore, rash, irritation or wound in the area
- Tend to form keloids or hypertrophic scars
- Have uncontrolled diabetes, are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, or have an autoimmune or skin condition in the area — in these cases we may require a written note from your doctor
- Have known allergies to pigments, numbing creams (lidocaine) or latex
- Are under 18 years of age
Please tell us honestly about your health, medications, supplements and previous treatments (botox, fillers, peels, previous permanent makeup). Hiding information can affect your safety and your result.
3. Possible risks and side effects
Normal and temporary: redness, swelling, tenderness, light scabbing or flaking, and color that looks darker and sharper during the first days, then softens during healing.
Less common: infection, allergic reaction, uneven healing or pigment retention, color change over time (cooler or warmer tones), pigment spreading (migration) and scarring. Results vary depending on skin type, age, oily skin, sun exposure and aftercare.
Laser or MRI: permanent makeup may affect future laser treatments and, rarely, cause mild discomfort during an MRI. Tell your doctor or technician that you have it.
4. Your aftercare commitments
- Follow the written aftercare instructions we give you, especially during the first 10 days
- Do not pick, scratch or peel the scabs
- Avoid sun, sauna, pools, the gym and makeup on the area during healing
- Contact us if you notice signs of infection (increasing pain, heat, pus or fever) and see a doctor if needed
5. Results
Every skin heals differently, so we cannot guarantee an exact result or how long it will last. Natural fading over 1 to 3 years is expected, and periodic color touch-ups help maintain the result.
6. Photos
We take before and after photos for your clinical record. We will only use them on our website or social media if you give separate written permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.
7. Health information and privacy
The health information you share is used only to perform the procedure safely and is kept confidential. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
8. Signature
At the studio, you will confirm that you have read and understood this information, that you have had the chance to ask questions, that the health information you provided is true and complete, and that you voluntarily agree to the procedure.
